Vyasa Studio

Vyasa Studio is at project-vyasa.github.io/vyasa-apps/studio. Locally: cd apps/studio && bun run dev → http://localhost:5376/

It is a small experimental play area for the Vyasa language. Open the Bhagavad Gita showcase, edit a file, hit Run, and preview compiled HTML. Nothing is saved. It is not Sanskrit Studio (Lipi / Pāṭha / Varṇa) and not the Viewer (packed publications).

The compiler is WebAssembly from vyasac. If the engine is missing, a banner says so — rebuild WASM and restart the dev server.

  1. Open Play (the landing screen).
  2. The left Source tree is the workspace files. Open one, or edit it. Reset restores the sample.
  3. Run compiles the whole workspace to HTML in the browser.

Packing a .vyview still happens with the CLI. The Workspace activity (ZIP, diagnostics) is next.

The tree is files. The preview header names the publication unit those files belong to. A filename is not a chapter unless the workspace says so.

Addressing What the header names Example
Sequence (the default; this Gita showcase) The container of leaf blocks. A verse command is a leaf. The container’s name comes from [urn].path_schema, and it stops above the last level of [urn].hierarchy. container · chapter 1
Document ([build.default] layout = "document") That file’s page. When path_schema names the path, the address is included. document, or document · chapter 1 · verse 2

In this showcase path_schema is chapter and each file is that container, so the open file and the preview page are the same. Another workspace can put many leaves in one file, or many files in one container. The header still names the container, not the file.

The menu above the preview switches streams of that same unit (Devanagari and IAST here). Templates and styles are files in the tree, under templates/. Play does not assume a particular command alias.

Language and packing docs stay on vyasa-docs. Sample workspaces: vyasa-samples.
